Design Your Light Spring Capsule Wardrobe: Fall 2026 with shopping links

So you’ve found your color season (Light Spring hooray!) and now you’ve decided it’s time to build a capsule wardrobe.

Well, girl, you are in the right place!

See, I started this website and business in the exact same place: I desperately wanted a capsule wardrobe that felt authentic for me (no cookie cutter Pinterest inspo thank you very much) and I knew that my color season was the best starting place.

In this Light Spring Capsule Wardrobe guide, I’ll walk you through the what and how of creating your own stunning capsule wardrobe, with all the wisdom I’ve gained through the years.

First things first, a quick overview of Light Spring. (Read our comprehensive guide here).

Light Spring exists in the modern 12-season system of seasonal color analysis. It is warm-neutral (lots of red, orange, and yellow undertones), light in value as the dominant characteristic, and neutral in chroma (sping is usually bright but picks up a bit of softness from it’s secondary summer influence).

With that out of the way, let’s talk about your first step in building a Light Spring Capsule wardrobe: the color palette.

Every variation of the Light Spring color palette includes upwards of 30 colors. Your closet doesn’t need that many colors. In fact, you probably don’t even like that many colors if you’re honest with yourself.

That’s why narrowing down all the colors into a cohesive smaller color palette is step number one in creating a Light Spring capsule wardrobe.

Ideally you want 3-4 neutral colors like medium brown, beige, ivory, and a soft navy as an extra neutral.

Then you want to choose 2-3 additional colors that function as core, signature colors for you and your style.

Now that you know what colors to include in your unique Light Spring capsule, it’s time to consider what you actually like to wear.

You should buy the type of clothing you like to wear, ideally finding your own unique style youniforms that you can style on repeat. There’s no sense in owning blazers or any other item if you’re not going to wear it.

Never buy something just because someone tells you it’s essential!

Honestly, this is the point where I personally got stuck building my capsule wardrobe, which is why I created a system better than capsules, called Youniform.

You can get the entire system in my book Youniform here.

When building capsules, I like to start with a really simple framework initially, 10-12 pieces to help you get the hang of the system.

This usually likes like 3-4 bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, dresses), 3-4 tops (tees, tanks, blouses, sweaters, tunics), and 3-4 completer pieces (cardigans, blazers, jackets, vests) so you can mix and match to create around 60 outfits.

You don’t actually NEED a large capsule to make a big impact in your style.

With all that said, maybe you DO want some guidance to build your own Light Spring Capsule wardrobe.

Below you’ll find our curated picks for Fall 2026, with links to purchase any of the products.

True to guidance, I selected a color palette of beige, ivory, pear, and light aqua. There are 4 tops, 4 bottoms (dress functions as bottom), 2 completer pieces, and a scarf…plus 3 shoe styles to get you through the whole season.

These styles lean classic/ingenue and are found at major US retailers.

If you’re shopping your own capsule, make sure the colors are truly Light Spring with our digital swatches, perfect for online or in person shopping on your mobile device:

Ultimately your Light Spring capsule wardrobe should be a reflection of the colors that you find beautiful, and only filled with clothes you’ll actually wear. Enjoy the process of curating a small closet filled with clothes you love, and come show it off in our FREE style community.
